Kevin’s drawing explores form and supports his recent sculptural work based around clusters, scapes and forms that hover in space.
Recent drawings include Sparkler Series, which emit explosive colour, referencing the ephemeral flash point of pyrotechnic explosions. Star Trail explores celestial movements that are not necessarily visible to the naked eye, but can be seen through a viewfinder over time.
Spiral Series references imploding stars, with each drawn from hundreds of overlaid spirals. The overall form resonates and confuses the eye, much like staring at the sky at night.

Within each drawing in the Golden Spiral Series, Osmond has filled out the body of a spiral with free-flowing tapering lines, providing contrast and mass to each form.
The spiral is based on a geometric sequence, whereby a series of identically proportioned rectangles, each having a golden ratio of 1.618 or phi and symbolised as φ, which become wider by a factor of φ for every quarter turn it makes, creating a perfect spiral. In nature, the golden spiral is often seen in living organisms, such as the spirals in seashells and plants, and in non-living examples such as the spiral arms of galaxies and the spirals of hurricanes.

Dot Dash Domain references the ever-growing plethora of information building on the internet. The 'domain' is a spherical, multi-coloured mass of dots attracting dots and dashes, which race in towards the core's outer edge. You can imagine the domain growing larger and larger as layers of dots build up, in effect, like a rolling snowball.

The Spiral Series of drawings reference imploding stars. Each drawing is made up of an accumulation of hundreds of spirals and is intuitively hand-drawn over several weeks using varying sized pens to create an intensely layered form. The form appears to resonate and/or confuse the eye, much like staring at the sky at night.
Spiral Series supports Kevin's 3-dimensional sculptural work which explores clusters, scapes and find-structural forms that hover in space.

Squirl Cluster has been drawn intuitively using a method of repetition to create an intense cluster loosely based on typographical squirls. Each doodle connects to the next, passing through a variety of colours and forming one continuous line that is explosive and weaves the length and depth of the paper.

Doodlemass is an unlimited series of freeform 3-dimensional doodle drawings on paper - each evolving from the total consumption of ink from one pen. As if the product of a very long telephone conversation, these drawings record a subconscious repetitive flowing thought. Each doodle is transformed from a worthless scribble, destined for the dustbin, into an integral component of a bigger picture. Each drawing involves a methodical sequence:
1. Select a doodle (no pre-conceived ideas)
2. Start anywhere on the page
3. Repeat
4. Continue until pen runs out
