Three kinetic artworks by Kevin Osmond sold to leading US collectors
Wormhole No.1
Osmond has sold three suspended kinetic sculptures at this month's Art Basel fair in Miami, Florida, USA. His New York based dealer, the Maxwell Davidson Gallery, sold Osmond's Spiral Cluster to a trustee of the Whitney Museum of American Art, NYC, while Nova No.1 and Wormhole No.1 sold to a major private art collection in New York and a Los Angeles art collection. Davidson's exhibition of kinetic sculpture was very well received and seemed to fit into a more general trend for kinetic artwork at the fair.
Art Basel Miami reported that more than 250 galleries from North America, Europe, Latin America, Asia and Africa had exhibited works by over 2,000 artists. The 2010 fair attracted 46,000 visitors, a record number, and claimed works of an exceptionally high standard and very solid sales.
