OSMOND SCULPTURE SOLD TO RISD MUSEUM OF ART

This week at the Pulse NY 2011 art fair, Osmond's Constellation No. 4 kinetic sculpture was bought by the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) Museum of Art, a major cultural institution based in the city of Providence, the USA's 'Creative Capital'.

The RISD Museum houses more than 86,000 works of fine and decorative art ranging from ancient times to the present, and is dedicated to the interpretation of art and design from diverse cultures, and to education. The Museum's contemporary art collection includes works by major artists from around the world. 

The Museum is linked to the respected RISD, whose current President is John Maeda, the world-renowned artist, graphic designer, computer scientist and educator. Located within the New England state of Rhode Island, Providence has earned a reputation for being an arts and cultural mecca with the largest number of working artists in the USA and a vibrant mix of galleries, theatres and museums.
